Everyone has their own regrets when it comes to things that they wished they have said to certain people at certain situations. I admit that I do have the same regret and in this situation saying that you'll do it the next time isn't really applicable. I mean sometimes I have this conversations in my head with certain people but I never said them but I never made a move about it again if I was to meet the people in the future. So let's just say these are just mini-regrets.
Long story short, I'm gonna post here things that I wish I said in the past that I can remember. These are the instances that there isn't that much of a regret in not voicing them out. It's just sayang.
So, this morning a German guy accidentally entered the women's car in the MRT. I was reading in my fone and then I heard him ask the lady beside her why is he the only guy in the car. The lady told him that it's the women's car and actually men are not allowed to ride in that particular car. The German said he didn't know about it and even said that he is feeling a little discriminated. He feels that people around him are shooting him daggers with their stares because he's not supposed to be there, that he doesn't belong there. As a response, the lady just laughed it off.
If I was the lady or I was the one the German talked to I may have said something like:
"Well, in our country it's not everyday that males are discriminated compared to women. Can this special car be just a consolation for the women of this country compared to other discrimination women receive from outside, in the real world? Although it's not that big of an accomplishment for women to feel empowered and all with this small portion in the train at least women feel that given the attention. However, in the end one has to reflect that segregation by gender and proving who's better is not the solution to end discrimination but rather just another way for more discrimination. Don't you think?"
A little long for a response for a simple question for the German. But then again what is small when it comes to discrimination? None.
